Jian (Sean) Gong is the founder of our Aviation Club and founding member of SkyTecho RTO Group - a significant corporate partner of FreeSoar - bringing over 17 years of exceptional aviation experience to inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts.

As a former commercial airline Captain with Air China, Sean accumulated more than 10,000 flight hours across various aircraft types including Airbus 319/320/321, Airbus 340, Boeing 737, and BE90.

Born and educated in China before pursuing an international aviation career, Sean understands firsthand the journey of building a successful path in the aviation industry across different cultural contexts. His experience bridges Eastern and Western aviation practices, making him uniquely qualified to mentor young people, particularly those with Chinese backgrounds who are passionate about pursuing careers in Aviation.

Currently serving as a Researcher and Academic Sessional Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology focusing on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), Sean combines practical flight experience with cutting-edge academic knowledge – precisely the blend needed to inspire young aviation enthusiasts about the future of Aviation.

Sean established this Aviation Club with a mission to create an inclusive community where young people and those with Chinese backgrounds can find mentorship, build connections, and develop the skills needed to thrive in various aviation careers. The club welcomes everyone with a passion for aviation, offering a supportive environment where cultural diversity enhances our shared love of Aviation and creates pathways to successful careers in this exciting industry.

Zihe Wang is an original founding partner of FreeSoar.

Since an early age, Zihe has held a deep passion for aviation. Growing up in Dubai, the UAE, he started his aviation journey in marketing campaigns for Emirates Airlines at 10 years old. In his time in the Middle East, he’s grown to love everything aviation, including traveling and airliners - especially the A380 - the single aircraft he’s flown on the most.

After recently moving, Zihe now resides in Melbourne, Australia. Here, he has been influenced to believe aviation should be more accessible to enthusiasts like himself, and strives to follow through this belief and passion through a variety of initiatives and community focused experiences made possible by FreeSoar Aviation.

In addition to FreeSoar and ST, Zihe carries many leadership experiences. These include several academic, music, and financial initiatives; a partnership non-profit startup; and pre-college business, finance, and leadership courses from Wharton and Harvard.

At the mere age of 16, Zihe has officially achieved his Australian pilot’s licence, flying on the Cirrus SR20 series aircraft.

Through FreeSoar and other supporting initiatives, Zihe seeks to utilize economics to spearhead social change, ultimately focusing on greater accessibility, innovation, and empowerment.

Cilla is a passionate woman who has many experiences and connections in entreprenueral endeavours ranging several industries.
She is also currently in the process of training for her own Australian recreational pilot’s license.
